Work Horse

This car belongs to Abang Nasi Lemak, the guy who sells nasi lemak every morning near my neighbourhood. I don’t know where he’s from. I don’t know his full name. What I do know is his nasi lemak is so sedap and costs RM1.50 a pack. In this economy. Legend.

Ever since he moved in behind my house, this car has been his loyal work horse, hauling sambal, rice and dreams to his little stall every single morning.

Recently he got a new car. My theory is this one finally said “cukup la bang, saya penat” and gave up. And good luck finding spare parts for it, probably kena cari kat muzium.

So now it just sits at the corner of the street, enjoying its well-deserved pencen. Thank you for your service, boss.
